Today, Cinzia and Moni Moni is not only loved by celebrities, fashionistas and women around the world alike, but has been and continues to be featured in the media and press, with the likes of People and Elle magazine and more! Last week we discovered how Cinzia, Moni Moni's designer, was put on the path to making one of the most beloved designer handbags for celebrities and fashionistas alike. Well, soon after she decided to leave the "nest," so to speak, she was ready to do something she not only loved, but felt she could present to the market with innovation sprinkled with chic style! Check out Cinzia's beginnings at her first office at the California Mart in Los Angeles, where the idea and inspiration came to start what would be Moni Moni Handbags:


"Here is my very first office in the California Mart, learning the ropes -- you can see my trusty candy red agenda book; this was before Blackberry ;-)"

Cinzia, however, was fueled by a deep creative passion, and when she set out to make a unique line of handbags that were not only stylish, but functional, she set off with the belief that every great bag should fall under the "three Cs" - capacity, comfort, and chic factor! As most of you know, Moni Moni implements those three Cs and even adds one more: creative! From the signature Splendor collections loved by celebs like Kourtney Kardashian to the elegant Dolce Vita, known for being Halle Berry's favorite bag, it's easy to see that Cinzia kept that passion driven by the same standard of quality, care and thought. She was soon able to give her office a bit of an upgrade, as you can see here:

"A few years later, as the business grew, my office evolved, I had a view, I was able to decorate it and make it as fashionable as I pleased and I had my own assistant...shortly after Moni Moni was born!"

Moni Moni's beginnings stem from the rich, creative background of designer Cinzia Moniaci. We invite you to share Cinzia's memories as we begin a blog series and journey through how this celeb-loved handbag company came to be!

Born and raised in Italy, Cinzia moved out to Southern California in 1997 and started her new life as a journalist and songwriter/performer. By 2002, her personal style, love for design and skillful creativity was given a big push when she won a scholarship to FIDM - but she didn't stop there!


"After being a fashion, music and entertainment correspondent for several magazines, here I am at the California Mart in the L.A. Fashion District. This is my official first step into the fashion business - SO exciting!"

Little did Cinzia know, this would be a threshold she would never forget, as she and a friend went on to open a showroom at the California Mart, importing high-end European designer accessories and reaching a worldwide market! Knowing what the market demanded as well as establishing her niche, her heart for design took over and Moni Moni was born. Now, as we see celebs like Halle Berry taking her Dolce Vita bag everywhere or Jessica Alba with her Splendor, we realize that Moni Moni isn't just a unique designer handbag -- it's a lifestyle that reflects the creative, yet effortless philosophy and style of Cinzia Moniaci!

Welcome to Part 2 of our series following Cinzia's visit to Italy! Last week we explored how Italy's surroundings inspired new ideas for Moni Moni, with even a sneak preview of a leather jacket collection in the works. This week, we look into a muse that inspires Cinzia, no matter where she is -- her beautiful daughter, Chloe, who happens to be along for the trip! Little Chloe is not only keeping Cinzia on her toes, but is providing good insight with a pair of fresh eyes. Best of all, she's keeping the smiles big and the hearts warm with Mom and Dad!

Enjoying her trip to her native Italy, Moni Moni's designer, Cinzia Moniaci, is being constantly inspired by the country's beauty. Known for its roman ruins, renaissance palaces, captivating landscapes and unique food, it's no wonder why Italy is a perfect muse wherever she turns. Let's see how her visit is helping her flourish her rich, creative background!

 
The rolling landscapes are a sight to see. Cinzia noticed a beautiful contrast between the open fields and the city behind it and took note (Pictured Left).
"The depth and attention to detail in Italian architecture is exactly what I always want to implement in my design," thought Cinzia (Pictured Right).

 
The nature is especially beautiful during her trip -- the flowers seemed more radiant, and the grass more lush (Pictured Left).

Talk about a busy day! We invited editors from various media outlets like Allure, In Style, People Style Watch, Daily Candy, and US Weekly to see what Cinzia Moniaci has up her sleeve for Spring 2011. They came to visit the showroom in the Fashion District in New York City. The response was amazing and here’s a peek into the showroom and what the editors saw.

We are very excited to share a couple of the trends that will be on fire for spring. One key presence that seems to transcend all seasons is the color of caramel. From shoes to pants to bags, caramel will definitely never go out of style.

Another color that is hot for spring is red. Passionate, strong, powerful -- just a few words associated with the word red. You will definitely not be lacking in grabbing attention if you tote a red Moni Moni bag.

Another bag trend that seems to have the editors excited is the cross-body, messenger bag. Everyone is still looking for everyday functionality, especially when they’re on the go, and a messenger bag definitely sets the pace for the rest of your day.

Take a cue from the experts. We're loving them for it.

I get so many questions about our bags — and while we can’t share all of our secrets with you — I wanted to give you a quick peek into the process each bag goes through at the factories.
